Upper Coralline Limestone Formation

It is the youngest rock layer that forms the Maltese island and it formed prior to it uplifting. It is very similar to the lower coralline limestone in composition and it indicates that it formed under similar conditions. On the Geological Map it is colour coded green. It has a maximum thickness of 160m at Bingemma.
